The Double Shot is a plastic half frame camera from Flic Film. This is an inexpensive plastic reusable camera, very similar to the (Kodak H35 camera). It has very minimal settings with a shutter speed of 1/120 and the aperture set at F8. The lens on the double shot is a 28mm focal length, which is decently wide, and it has a fixed focus past 1.8 meters so it might not be great for close up subjects. The double shot also has a built in flash which has a set distance to 1 meter.
If you don’t want to have to take 72 photos, Flic Film has made 2 film stocks for half frame cameras – Ultrapan 18 (B/W) and Apollo 18 (C41). 18 exposures on a half frame will give you 36 shots, which is perfect for someone who wants to have the same experience as shooting regular 35mm.
The images look exactly how I expected them to turn out – they are sharp in the middle and slightly soft around the edges. I used the Double Shot with the Ultrapan 18, on Halloween. My photos came out slightly underexposed due to me being in low light, even with flash, however I do like the look developed in Blazinol
If you’re looking for a cheap film camera to try out film in, or something fun to carry around, the Double Shot is a great choice.
