The photo walk will invite photographers to investigate the city and its spaces around Gallery 881. \nBegun more than three decades ago and continuing to this day\, City Pastoral captures an ever-evolving portrait of life along the city’s shoreline. With his vintage Soviet Horizont analog camera\, Basarić renders leisure as “extravagant normalcy\,” revealing the poetic tension between urban habit and expansive horizon. \nThe exhibition includes 11 finished works\, along with panoramic photographs taken between 2000 and 2024. SUMMARY:Cyanotype Toning With Plants

In this workshop you will learn about toning cyanotypes to get other tones like brown and turquoise. Using various plant materials\, we will tone cyanotypes and talk about the many ways we can experiment with the process and affect the final colours. This is a sustainable process that doesn’t use any harsh chemicals\, just plant material you might find around your home. It is a good option for creating prints that have a historic process look without using silver nitrate or other chemicals that can be hard to find or need more caution when handling. The workshop will cover the process of toning with plants\, how to get different colours in the images\, which prints and papers work best for toning\, and what steps are next in the toning adventure. You will need to bring 4 – 5 of your cyanotype prints that you are willing to experiment with. Up to 8×10 only please! We want to celebrate this history with photographs inspired by quotes from our favourite writers. \nJoin us on a photo excursion and celebrate this history by taking photographs inspired by quotes from your favourite writers. Exchange ideas and be inspired by others on the walk. Submit your best images for an exhibition in the Beau gallery space. \nFilm and digital cameras welcome!
