The SkyTracker Pro is compact, small enough to fit on the palm of your hand, features silent & precise tracking, and even has a built-in rechargeable battery that runs for up to 24 hours of continuous operation. The precision polar scope has a fine engraved reticle, and features adjustable illumination with eight brightness levels. When used with iOptron’s smart phone app, quick and accurate polar alignment is possible.

iOptron’s own Polar Scope App is inexpensive and its display exactly mimics the SkyTracker Pro’s polar alignment scope reticle. It’s available for both iPhone/iPad here… iOptron Polar Scope app in iTunes App Store and if you have an Android device, the inexpensive Polar Finder App in the Google Play Store also works in the same way.

The SkyTracker Pro features four tracking rates, 1X or sidereal, 1/2X for sky and landscape, solar and lunar. All 4 tracking rates work in both northern and southern hemispheres. There’s also a quick slew mode with both forward and reverse to help quickly reframing your image without disrupting the cameras position.

The SkyTracker Pro’s removable alt-azimuth base features a precision bubble level, degree markings for the altitude and a built in post for azimuth control. You can also mount the SkyTracker Pro head (without the base) directly to any standard photographic tripod with 1/4” or 3/8” threads. The SkyTracker Pro is a must-have tool for any photographer interested in astro-landscape or wide field astrophotography. As you can see in the two sample images, if you make an effort to polar-align it very carefully, you can even do several minute long exposures with much longer focal length lenses.
