Kirk Neff is a former Senior Photojournalist and a current Director of Photography for Global Television’s program “16 x 9”. With 18 years of experience Kirk Neff has worked for some of the best news establishments in Canada. Kirk will be talking about how he got involved shooting with a DSLR and why he now prefers this instead of the traditional big shoulder camera. Kirk will also cover why and how he made this change to shooting DSLR exclusively as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using a DSLR to shoot long format news stories.

Nick Didlick has been an editorial and commercial photographer for over 30 years. Having been based in Vancouver, Brussels and London he calls Vancouver home. Twice nominated for a Pulitzer by Reuters news pictures, he has covered many of the world’s major news and sports events. Nick’s topic will be an intro to video for still photographers. From equipment and planning to shooting your "first video” his lecture will be full of tips and tricks.

Alex Gower-Jackson is a Director / Creative Producer based in Vancouver. In the lead up to the 2010 Winter Olympics he was involved in several aerial filming projects commissioned to promote Canada. As director/producer on these shoots he was part of a team of specialists who combined their skills to create many hours of compelling and beautiful footage. Alex will speak about his work on the spectacular shots for the opening of the 2011 Winter Olympics and the many aspects to aerial film work from both a creative and logistics perspective.
