Turning Passion into Beauty
Join Elizabeth Gadd as she shares about her passion for photography: From how she got started to the last 10 years of developing her craft – particularly the surreal combination of self-portraits with landscapes. Included in her talk will be a look into her creative process, how she shoots, some stories from behind the images, where she finds inspiration, and how she tackles creative ruts and continues the search for beauty and meaning through art today.
Elizabeth Gadd is a landscape, portrait and adventure photographer, often tying all three genres together into one photo. Based just outside of Vancouver, Canada, she fell easily in love with exploring the surrounding forests, hills, mountains and ocean – all of which are heavily incorporated in her photography. First picking up a camera over 10 years ago, she was immediately drawn into the world of creating magical images of nature and landscapes, eventually leading to the whimsical combination of landscapes with human portraiture (usually self-portraits) that she’s known for today. This niche of Elizabeth’s photography has been described by others as fairytale-esque, dreamy, peaceful or full of wanderlust. To this day she enjoys traveling, creating, hiking and adventuring with her dog, and continually looking for beauty in the world… most often in the form of a cup of coffee.
