These discounts will appear on your receipt in different ways, so before you
you panic over not receiving it, please making sure you are checking the
right place.
Film and Paper
Here at Beau, we cater to the professional photographer, and in that spirit
we offer bulk pricing on many of our products. The bulk pricing on film
starts at 20 rolls, however, realizing that the average student is probably
not going to be buying 20 rolls of film at a time, we are more than happy to
give you, the student, bulk price whenever you buy film and paper,
regardless of quantity. This discount varies according to brand, but it is
usually between 8-10%. Where on your receipt does it say how much you have
saved? It doesn't. Bulk items have more than one column of pricing in our
computer system, if you told whoever was helping you at the counter that you
are a student and showed your card, you will get the lower price. Check out one of our price lists if you're not sure which price you've paid for.
Sales
When we put a product on sale, the sale price is our absolute lowest price.
Everyone is treated equally on this one. Again, you will not see on your
receipt how much you saved by buying a product on sale. We are so efficient
as to have entered the sale price into our computer system so that you are
automatically billed the very lowest price. Often we have the regular price
posted alongside the sale price if you want to check on your savings.
Lomography products, outdated film, back to school discount (Sept. only), etc.
Finally, on the lower left corner of your receipt there is a area that says
"discount" sometimes followed by a dollar amount. This only appears when you
have been given a discount on an item that we don't sell in bulk and that
was not on sale. This special discount is activated at time of purchase and you will see exactly how much you saved on your receipt. This is the least common type of student discount given.
Sadly, the government doesn't give PST exemption to studens anymore, sorry.
